What state universities offer online degrees?

I wanted to do the University of Phoenix(the campus), but I saw a lot of complaints about them. They are not a lot of choices I can choose from where I live, so online degrees is best for me.

I mean for the economic climate. Is an associate degree even relevant anymore? And would a BA acquired online be looked down upon? I don’t think I have the money, grades, or patience for grad school.

I’ve checked a few schools and so far the only ones I have found have crappy course descriptions that just reiterate the title of the course. I need info if I’m going to be spending my hard-earned money! I have looked at WingHill Writing School (is this place even legit?), A couple of those Online schools you see advertised on TV all the time (crap?), and UMass Amherst (great school, bad course descriptions, expensive). Any tips?
